Friday Links!

Leading off, and holy cow, this is amazing: an 18-foot, saltwater crocodile that leaps for food offered by tourist boat operators. Yeah, it's ridiculous, I know, but check out the video.

George Paci sent in a link to a fascinating article about a gigantic controversy in Korea over the legitimacy of a superstar rapper's degree from Stanford (note: it was honestly earned): The Persecution of Daniel Lee. And I thought that kind of craziness only happened here!

From Jarod Werbick, and the fellow in this video is brilliant: Full screen-split screen with any game. With a very clever mod to 3-D glasses, each of two players can enjoy full screen action--on the same screen.

From The Edwin Garcia Links Machine, another excellent article about Iraq's first metal band: Acrassicauda: Overcoming Iraq to Make Metal Music.

From Sirius, and this video is absolutely insane: Bike ride, southern Utah. These guys are less than a second away from serious injury (or death) the entire time, seemingly. Also, and this is a wonderful story, a brilliant idea for lighting in poor areas: A "liter of light" . Here's one more, and it's one of the most menacing images I've ever seen: Scanning EM of a "hydrothermal worm".

From Dave Schroeder, three terrific shuttle links:
Photo: father and son at first and last Space Shuttle launches
Space Shuttle Endeavors Final Launch From an Airplane-Window
Space Shuttle Discovery - 360VR Cockpit Images

You have to see that 360 view--it's quite incredible.

Rob Varak also sent in an excellent Shuttle link: ISS and Atlantis seen in broad daylight.

Steffen Vulpius sent in a link to a video from last year's Chaos Communication Congress discussing Stuxnet: Adventures in analyzing Stuxnet (Bruce Dang from Microsoft).

Here's another Stuxnet link from Yacine Salmi, this one to a TED lecture: Ralph Langner: Cracking Stuxnet, a 21st-century cyber weapon.

From David Gloier, an interesting and enjoyable video about a specialty soda retailer: Obsessives: Soda Pop. Also, and I know it's 48 minutes long, but it is the history of the electric guitar: Electrified:The Guitar Revolution.

From Josh Eaves, and this is, um, unsettling: Next-Generation Gelatin Could Be Derived From Humans Instead Of Animals.

From Kevin W, and the narrator of this video is very funny, it's dog bites a shark.

From Ryan Brandt, and boy, is this worth watching: 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air versus 2009 Chevrolet Malibu crash test.

From Clayton Lee, and I bet you thought kittens couldn't DJ, but you're wrong: Kittens on Decks.
